Who are you and what do you do?
Marcos Roque Villa, CEO of insurtech Segfy
1. What was the journey that brought you to your current role?
I developed the entire management process for the insurance broker, I have been in this market since 1992 when I founded my first company. In 2017 I merged with two more companies in the insurance industry. In January 2021 we closed a transaction with the FIP Porto Venture fund created by Seguradora Porto Seguro.
2. How do you get things done?
Focus and know how to say no.
3. Who are your role models and why?
Elon Musk, simply a visionary who is changing the world.
4. What’s the one secret about your field or industry you wish everyone knew?
It is not a secret, but I would like everyone to know or feel the real emotion of a person who receives an insurance claim, right after suffering an irreparable loss from a family member.
5. What are your predictions for the industry for the next few years?
Expected a lot of growth and opportunities. In Brazil there is a huge market yet to be explored. Year after year the Brazilian insurance sector is growing and there is a blue ocean ahead.
